I am in major need of help everytime i try to install the -300 my installshield says setup engine has stopped running. I am still using windows vista ultimate 64bit. I got the SP1 update to go through by changing the security setting by unblocking the file. If anyone can help me please let me know I am beyond frustrated.

Installshield uses many of the core components of MSI, which is the internal windows installation process.

 

If you have any processes that are blocked, shut down, or inhibited - you will have trouble.

 

We normally see what you are reporting on user machines that have various services disabled after following one of the "tweaking" guides out there...  OR we see it when a user has very aggressive anti virus software that is grabbing hold of the install process and killing it.

 

It is something on your machine doing the killing...  I hope that you are able to find it without too much trouble!

First let me say thank you for responding to this. I have been a strong supporter of your products for many many years now. I must tip my hat to you and your staff for putting together such a great product. The 777 has been and is great!

 

I have been trying to get the -300ER installed since 1930 Vegas time and I have yet to find the answer. I did try shutting down most of not all of my Norton 360 for that very reason. I thought I was on to something when I got the SP1 to install but still no luck with the -300ER. I have no clue where to look for disabled services as I am not smart enough to go through and actually disable something from a "tweaking" site hahaha! If you or anyone else might have some more ideas please let me know I am looking forward to getting the 300 in the air!
