July 20, 201411 yr So I've looked through the manuals both introduction and FCOM v2. While the FCOM v2 shows that takeoff bump can be selected like any other derate option, when I look in the FMC, there isn't a TO B option. The FCOM mention it as a airline option and the intro manual it did mention the 300ER's engines being able to do TO B. I also looked at the issue tracking post, and that too mentions TO B being enabled for SP1. Maybe I overlooked something? Brian Evans

July 21, 201411 yr Author Download the Emirates paint and go to the THR REF page. There are a whole bunch of options missing...why? Read the intro manual  (Hint: airline options) As I stated before, I'm aware it is a airline options("The FCOM mentions it as a airline option..") It just I cannot find anyway of enabling it in the THRUST LIMIT page (Yes I have looked around with the airline options in the intro manual to see if I can enable it.) even though the intro manual ["The GE90-115BL1 variant with the takeoff bump option has been modeled here."] and the issue tracking thread["- TO-B (takeoff bump) thrust option now displays (this was there in the RTM code but was accidentally disabled)"] said that it can be enabled. EDIT: So I did some more research and according to real life pilots: "The 777 FCOM doesn't give too much away in regards of takeoff bump.Takeoff bump is a thrust reference mode which allows additional takeoff thrust when the aircraft is operated in the following envelope.Pressure altitude -2000ft to 3000ft. Ambient temperature 32 to 53C." So I booted up the sim, set the temperature at the airport to 53C in ASN and sure enough the TO B option appeared. Thank you for responding Kyle, and hopefully someone who is intrested "like me" will come across this info. Another thing to note is : "We only use takeoff bump after other methods have failed to produce the required TOW. Pack off takeoff, APU to L pack takeoff."
