Is anyone else hearing a high pitch sound, or ringing in the engine of the DA40?  it is driving me crazy, and forces me to mute the engine when at high RPM.  Any help would be apprecated.

Not sure if this still is a concern but I can confirm the issue and tracked it down to the rpm2.wav file in SimObjects\Airplanes\Alabeo DA40\sound. Maybe it was recorded as the AP gave an altitude alarm or something since that's what it sounds like.

 

Now this is a low-ish rpm sound, so maybe you can avoid it by running even lower or higher, so another rpm wave file is used. Edited. Forget that tip, it remains active and just plays with another pitch. 1800 is quite funny once you recognised it.

 

Some sound pros might also apply a filter to get rid of the beep, but that's not my realm of competence. :mellow:

 

Or pick some good C172 sound set. Same engine that is.
