July 30, 201411 yr Hi Guys, Now this isn't really about a CTD but there is some context with it and I know how good you guys are at fixing almost anything so I thought i'd try my luck anyway. What I did: Originally I had an almost instant CTD when opening FSX not a big deal I thought it was the perfect opportunity to scrap it and make a brand new install because it was full of stuff that I didn't need. Doing my clean uninstall I went through my AppData folder to delete the 2 FSX folders in Local and Roaming, couldn't find them thought they were hidden so ticked hidden on my whole AppData folder (don't ask me why I have no idea!) big loading bar hid the whole folder, tried to reverse all good big loading bar again and it was back. But I have seemed to have broken things like outlook continually asking for a password, google chrome not running and telling me it wasn't shut down properly trying to open the same page over and over again and not showing my most popular tabs,Windows credentials broken, as well as other niggly things. Mostly all saying something like I don't have permission to access certain folders. Nothing major but really annoying me at the moment. What I've tried: I've ran several registry cleaners with no such luck, looked through my permissions cant really see anything and other things I've forgotten about (4 days of trial and error). I've also looked into broken junctions which sounds good but is over my head. What my Dad wants to do: Well he wants to kill it all and wipe it but I don't agree so i need help! My system: I run win7 64bit all up to date and all as admin. I also have a SSD with windows all loaded on there including AppData, all other programs installed on my other drive. I hope that all makes sense guys any help would be much appreciated I feel like theres a simple fix but I'm no tech wizard! Cheers Jake. Jake Teirney

I have never heard of this before. There's no way you can tick hidden on your whole AppData folder. Totally impossible. The only what to hide or unhide hidden folders is to go to folder options - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/394-hidden-files-folders-show-hide.html. If you right click the AppData folder you might have hit the Share with line and removed sharing of the folder with your system. That's pretty difficult to do though. In any case you want to right click the AppData folder and select Properties. Under General Tab make sure Hidden is checked (this does not hide/unhide the folder); Under the Share Tab make sure the Network File and Folder Sharing is shared. That should fix things. July 31, 201411 yr Author Hi Jim, By hidden all I mean is ticking that checkbox in Appdata/properties. When its checked I get a loading bar saying applying attributes then its gone, I get it back from folder options but it still has that clearish folder icon. My network sharing is on but folder sharing I've set it up but doesn't really appear anywhere? Jake Teirney
