Orbx Pnw Blurry Ground Textures In P3D V2

Featured Replies

I've just installed ORBX FTX PNW in P3D v2. I'm using it with FSDT Vancouver. So I jump in the default F22 and fly around the greater Vancouver area to check it out. The ground textures are very blurry and load VERY slow, which in turn hits my fps. I've seen various topics on this subject before, so I tried adding [JOBSCHEDULER] AFFINITYMASK=15 to my P3D .cfg file since I have a quad core processor. It made a difference with the default scenery, which loads very fast now, but the orbx scenery is unchanged in loading speed, and I am still getting nothing but blurry, slow loading ground textures in the PNW region.

Any suggestions?

Have you defragged that behemoth 2TB drive since installing PNW?

Also keep in mind that the higher autogen tree and building density of PNW will put a heavier load on your system, which explains why areas outside of PNW will load up faster.

I am defragging my drive as I type. I don't know if it's going to make any difference, since it was only 5% fragmented.

Would it help if I ran the entire sim off of a SSD?
