Help Requested To Get 777-300Er 5.1 Speech Working

Featured Replies

I cannot receive ATC speech over my headphones, although ATC says they are receiving me 5/5. I am looking for help from someone who has 5.1 surround sound installed and successfully uses voice comms with ATC.

Having tried as many combinations of parameters as I can muster, I still have problems somewhere within:

  1. FSX Options.Settings.Sound
  2. Windows Sound settings
  3. Realtek HD Audio Manager settings

I am open to replies here or on-line help using a TeamSpeak session at an appropriate pre-arranged time.

Help will be much appreciated.

Regards, Richard

Cheers, Richard

Hi Rick! I would try deleting the [Audio] section in the fsx.cfg and run FSX to rebuild and then edit your settings.

Here is my setup:

I have both a Logitech 5.1 desk speaker system and G930 Wireless headset. I opened the sound section in FSX and configured "voice" to my headset and "sound" through my desktop speakers. Since I use FSPassanger and GSX and AES, I set my headset as default and primary device. The key is how you setup the sound in 77L/77W CDU - I send that to my desktop speakers.

Thanks for your reply, Xaver.

I am not at all sure why, but my 5.1 sound and headset now seem to be working. I spent most of yesterday fiddling with many settings.

I shall fly again tomorrow to prove it is all OK.
