Hi All:

 

After a number of years, my old CPU died. Just installed  a new motherboard and i7-4670k chip. Am running video off the i7 graphics until my new card comes. Just restored FSX from my backup and get the following error.

 

"Flight Simulator cannot run because the version of Microsoft DirectX®

Installed on your computer is incompatible. Please reinstall DirectX 9.0……"

 

Tried renaming fsx.cfg for it to rebuild and no change. DId I forget to restore a directory? Considering the number of add-ins etc, I really hope I don't need to do a reinstall :-)

 

BTW, this is DX11 on an Intel 4600 Graphics card with 1.7 Gb Ram available to it. The OS is Win 7 Pro with all latest patches, Motherboard is a Gigabyte Z97X-UDH5-BK with 16 Gb of G.Skill Ram.

 

I don't have any other graphics problems -- all other program work fine!

 

Any suggestions are welcome. And if this isn't the correct forum to post this in, please let me know and I'll move it to the correct one!

^{It appears your new PC is running Win7 therefore by default  this comes with Direct x11 but FSx requires at least some Directx 9c files.}
