August 15, 201411 yr I apologise if this has been discussed to death in advance, I've tried looking up all the changes possible to the FS9.cfg and my textures still seem quite blurry at a reasonably close distance to my aircraft, as well as putting anisotropic filtering to 16x. Is there any way to increase this? The reason I ask is I've seen some youtube videos and screenshots where people don't seem to have this problem, or perhaps it's clever positioning to hide these flaws. I've attached images to show exactly what I mean. http://puu.sh/aTDfo/c1b26a30eb.jpg http://puu.sh/aTCPP/16f57f9ade.jpg Example of a video I was talking about;
August 15, 201411 yr In FSX, you increase the value of LOD_RADIUS in the cfg. Not sure if it's the same in FS9. Beware: I never got an OOM in FSX until I started tweaking this number. I suggest adding a value of .5 until you get an OOM, then dial it back. Aaron Thacker
August 15, 201411 yr Blurriness of textures have always been an issue for FS9 users and as far as I know there is no solution that completely eliminates it. But if you zoom out it will get better and that explains why there is no blurry textures in the video.
August 16, 201411 yr Try replacing your section in your fs9.cfg file with this one - back up your original file cfg first: [TERRAIN]TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=200.000000TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=19TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.500TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.500TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=232 Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
