August 27, 201411 yr Hello: I could use some clarification please. When I input an arrival airport into the FMC and go to "Menu" on the FMC to select the arrival RWY, if there are no STARs associated with that ARPT or RWY, the FMC doesn't seem to add any RWY information on the NAV display. For example I flew to RPUO yesterday. The RWY is 6/24. There are no STARs for this ARPT. When I selected RWY 6 in the FMC (I believe it was option 1), it then prompts me to add a STAR. I skip this option and select FLP on the lower right of the FMC display. When I move to review the FLT PLN on the NAV display, no data is given for the arrival RWY (no extended center line, no initial fix). Am I doing something wrong or is this just not a feature for this aircraft. Thanks A. August 28, 201411 yr I think the work-around for this (both on the real unit and this one) is once you select the arrival runway, you press the enter key a couple times to 'cycle through' the non-existent approach options and then the unit will input the information into the flight plan. If you simply select Flt Plan after selecting a runway, you're not actually confirming the information and no changes will be made to the flight plan. Patrick Houghton
September 1, 201411 yr Yea that doesn't do anything for me. In order to get any info you need to select at the minimum an approach. Doesn't matter really since it doesn't display anything useful if you do. Instead its better to use a pseudo-VOR to draw out the runway heading if you feel you need it.
