Your crash does not provide any information whatsoever to help us pinpoint your crash. You have FSX w/SP2 installed. Uninstall SP2, run FSX, and then reinstall SP2. The AVSIM CTD Guide, located to the right of this forum under Hot Spots, provides information on how to troubleshoot your crash. Most CTD's are not the same with the same solution. You have to find the problem on YOUR system.

Unfortunately your event viewer report provides no clues as to the cause of crash. You do have fsx installed in the default location which most computer experts here at AVSIM recommend you do not install to. They recommend you install it to C:\FSX for instance. Again, you should try uninstalling SP2 and then reinstall. Make sure UAC is turned off too.

Hi again,

It still didn't work but I now have a fault message

Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e17d3

Im thinking a different version of uiautomaioncore.dll is needed but have no idea which one. I have to put uiautomationcare.dll in my fsx folder as it crashed straight away and told me fsx was restarted. So that problem was fixed and now im back to square one

According to the AVSIM CTD Guide located to the right of this forum under Hot Spots, you can place one of two versions of the uiautomationcore.dll in the main fsx folder (which I strongly do not recommend unless you are getting menu crashes). Your error report indicates you put version 7.0.0.0 in your main fsx folder and the guide states only versions 16386 or 18000 can be placed in this folder. The uiautomationcore.dll is not the 'magic bullet' that will fix all of your crashes. It is narrowed to just one type of crash and I seriously doubt it really fixes that type of crash. I do not have it installed in my main fsx folder and I have tried several times to replicate the menu crash this module possibly fixes and have so far been unsuccessful. I think it is because I keep my sliders in moderation and do not employ tweaks, like BufferPools. Most individuals who have FSX crashes who remove the uiautomationcore.dll from their main fsx directory no longer see crashes.

Hope this helps.

I split your CTD to a new topic as you piggybacked on another CTD and this only causes a lot of confusion.
