October 9, 201411 yr Bonjour, I use a wireless xbox 360 controller which have the particularity to disconnect itself if not used during 30 minutes (I think). My problem is that the control assignment in OpusFSi, which is supposed to be automatic when the input devices order change, is totally confused. Even after reloading FSX, Reboot.... I sometimes have to change all the joysticks button in the camera management. So it is a bit difficult to manage and I was wondering if it is possible to have a dialog, in OpusFSI Server, where the user can assign the joystick number to the device. I hope I am clear on that request. Best regards Claude Claude Troncy
October 9, 201411 yr Commercial Member The controls do sync themselves when the program first starts. The program associates current joystick numbers to the named joystick interfaces. This is necessary as all joystick button inputs are communicated to Opus as events via the SimConnect interface, the sim reports these events using simple joystick numbers relating to its input device list. What I think is happening is your controller is disconnecting itself and removing itself from the device list which then results in a reassignment of all joystick numbers. Not sure what I can do as Opus does not assign joystick numbers, that is done within Windows and hence within the sim. Can you stop the device from sleeping by stopping the USB port or the device from powering down and disconnecting? Stephen P.S. Try this link, just in case it's your USB port powering down. http://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-xp-tips/prevent-windows-from-powering-off-usb-device/ Stephen This link describes how to stop the XBox 360 Controller from sleeping ... http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/927246-fable-ii/answers/6970-how-do-i-turn-off-the-xbox-360s-auto-sleep-feature Stephen
October 9, 201411 yr Author Hi Stephen, I tried to stop the controller from sleeping through the usb port... That doesn't work. For the second link I had read it, but I didn't find any dashboard for the wireless controller in PC mode. The best contribution I found was this onePut the controller on the floor and push the right analog stick with the floor and rest a book on it, so the controller doesn't turn off." I understand that you cannot override the assignment made by window which is send to Opus through Simconnect. So this wireless controller is not good for FSX.Best regardsClaude Claude Troncy
October 9, 201411 yr Commercial Member Sorry, I had assumed you were using a USB controller. Try Googling for a solution specifically for the wireless version. Perhaps someone knows. Better still use a USB controller, I use a Sony DualShock 3 controller dedicated to LCC. Good luck. Stephen :-)
October 9, 201411 yr Author I already googled a lot, and nobody knows... The only way I found is this one. 1 Switch off the controller by taking away the battery (There is no switch off button)... :( 2 Start FSX... Do not use the exec.xml to start OpusFSI. 3 Switch on the controller (What a chance, there is a switch on button)... 4 Start OpusFSI With this method the controller device is always in the last position. Pfffff Best regards Claude Claude Troncy
