Cannot install Service Pack 2

Featured Replies

I reformatted by hard drive and reinstalled FSX  ( My O/S is Windows 7 Prof )

After that I installed FSX Deluxe Edition, then Service Pack 1

When trying to install Service Pack 2 I get the following message :

Service Pack 2 setup ended before completing installation.Your system has

not been modified. To install later, please run set up again.

I have installed FSX many times and never had that problem.

Does anybody have an idea what is missing or wrong ?

Thank you

Have you tried running FSX after each step of your install?  Were you successful activating FSX

before installing any Service Pack?

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

Yes,I installed FSX,entered the activation code. After that I installed service pack 1 without any problem.

Then I tried service pack 2 which failed.

From what I found doing a search for your problem, it seems that you might have something

left over in the registry that is preventing the complete install of SP2.  Do a search for

"FSX can't install SP2" and read through some of the result for a further explanation.
