October 18, 201411 yr Hi Now the Haswell-E's have been out a while, has anyone got performance data on OCd 5820k / 5930k setups? Would be good to know FPS, CPU GHz and memory speeds There's a LOT of opinion out there but it would be good to get some solid numbers, for any / all the main sims (though preference would be for xplane). Any Haswell-E'ers able / willing to stump up some figures?
October 19, 201411 yr Not really for FS but Anandtech did a nice job http://www.anandtech.com/show/8426/the-intel-haswell-e-cpu-review-core-i7-5960x-i7-5930k-i7-5820k-tested/6 You might check the FSMark thread here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/329116-fsxmark11/page-47 | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 19, 201411 yr Author Hi Ryan Thank you for the reply, I had seen those threads and though they give some interesting tidbits, there doesn't yet seem to be hard, cold numbers, especially FPS, specifically for flight sims AND the Overclocked Haswell-E's out there. With their appetite for CPU cycles, the sims aren't really comparable to the usual benchmark site fleet of Tomb Raider, Bioshock and Battlefield 4, which usually are quite happy whatever CPU you send their way (and instead get fussier about the GPU onboard). I did pick thorugh the FSMark thread and nothing really stood out, so my hope was to find users here that actually have the chips and can give real world figures. Understandably, there's a ton of data for the 4790K and its siblings, but for the 58xx's there's mostly just discussion, opinion and estimation. Numbers would clear a lot of it up
