FSX Crashes during loading

Featured Replies

Initially tried simlauncherx on my network but as I was having problems fully connecting - could not save flight palns or "see" FSX flights etc, I decided to try on my main FSX computer.

Sinlauncher instaled correctly but when I tried to start FSX {manually} it crashed during the first few seconds after starting to load.

So far I have tried:

Uninstalled  Sinlauncher including deleting all folder - no change

Rebuild FSX.cfg  - no change

Sytem Restore to before installing Simlauncher - no change

There seems to be nothing significant in the crash message other that referring to FSX.exe

Having never seen this in many years with FSX, grateful for any advice before I try a full reinstall

Many thanks

John R

Hi John,

Did you start FSX using SimLauncherX or outside of SimLauncherX? Please have a look in the Windows event viewer and see if you can find an entry related to FSX.

thanks, Maarten

Starting outside of Simlauncherx. Very odd because the crash was happening within 3 seconds of starting FSX.exe.

Not even sure it was simlauncherx - might have been a coincidence - we all know what computers are like!

I've reinstalled FSX and it's running ok.

And I only really want to use simlauncherx on a client machine so I'll stay with that and take it slowly until the gremlins in the client/server connection are worked out

Many thanks

John
