FS Live Traffic Advice... Last time!

Featured Replies

I seem to be having some difficulties with FS Live Traffic that I purchased the other night. These issues I know should be minor, yet with their lack of documents, I am at a loss. I used to use UT. All of the a/c would be parked at correct gates. Take KORD for instance. United is at concourse B anc C, American at Terminal 3, Terminal 5 was international ect. Everything was in place. Now with FSLT, I have American Eagle, Spirit, USA 3000 ect parked at United gates, 747's parked where TED A320's should be parked and so on. Is there a way to COMPLETELY wipe out all of my AFCAD parking files and start from scratch? Would that be a waste? My only concern would be the lack of air traffic due to smaller airports that I would not d/l an AFCAD for in the US. Any suggestions? My other issue is some of the FSLT textures look VERY cartoonish, and some do not. This leads me to believe that some AC might still be in FS9 from UT. In some cases, two planes are parked at the same gate. At KDTW (Imagine Scenery) there will be 2 NWA 757's at a gate w/ different textures. At KMDW, I have SWA, GA and NWA planes all scattered throughout the same terminal. I'm thinking UT might not be off of my sim completely. When I did the uninstall, I couldn't use the uninstaller. I deleted the folders and wiped everything from UT off my HD (after backing them up). Do you think if I uninstall FSLT, re-install UT then try to uninstal using the unstaller, then putting FSLT back on that would help? Last, if it turns out that the FSLT textures are cartoonish, are there other textures we can use instead? (PAI, UT, ect)Though I am not very technical, I am open to all suggestions or tips. If there is a thread on this, please direct me to them. Thanks!Brad

* Bump*

It is probably because you have two afcad files now for each Airport. THe ones you installed and the ones that come with FS Live traffic. IF you have any duplicate ones then if you goto the folder where the FSLive Afcads are stored then you can rename or delete any of those that you have existing already.Take for example ORD.. You probably have a Af2_Kord.bgl or something similar in your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder which is the one you added yourself. IF you look to see where your FSLive afcad2 files got installed, as i dont have that software I wouldnt know where it puts them, then you will find some more bgl files with a similar name, Look for Kord anyway and if you see it then just rename it to something like .BAK instead of .bgl or delete it completely which is upto you. Then when you restart your sim you should find that it will use your Afcad 2 file which you have installed already and you hopefully should find that your aircraft are parking in the right spots as long as the FSlive Aircraft use the same parking rules as other AI planes from like Project Ai and Ai Aardvark which I think it is.Good LuckCraig

Thanks for the tips. I'll check it out. Any idea what folder FS Live afcads are placed?Isn't it usually addon scenery/scenery?

There in the Scenery folder, "My world Airports" which is the folder right next to the "Add on" Scenery folder. Open up your "My world Airports" folder and delete everything. Then copy and paste your contents of your "Add on" folder to the "My world Airports" folder.It's simple as that, and that should solve your problem. You should keep the "Add on" folder in case you need it for something. Now keep in mind FSlive has flightplans for planes that might not leave for a couple hrs. So say in the morning you might have some overun on your gates and planes might be sitting in the wrong place only because they have nowhere for them to go. If you load the data in the afternoon everything should set up right for you.

Cool that makes sense. Do you know anything about the textures?Thanks

I don't, but I'll mess around with it this weekend and see If you can interchange textures. The only one I really don't like is the 767's and one of the general aviation types, can't rememeber which one though. Everything else is satisfactory to me, but they are not to the level of Project AI or others out there, I'll admit that. :)
