November 17, 201411 yr I need a new monitor (flat panel tv) since the one I was using is now in my living room. Im having a hard time trying to figure out what to get because I am worried about frames/screen tearing. With my old 120 hz I had to put it into a PC mode to keep from getting vsync issues, PC mode sent the tv to 60hz refresh rate which cured the problem. Im finding with these newer tvs PC mode isnt changing the hz to 60 anymore. In P3d I struggle to keep fps in the 30's. Really need some input on this, thanks.
November 17, 201411 yr I have my PC connected to a 46" Samsung LCD. I believe P3D maximum FPS will be limited to your screen refresh. The other day I set the resolution in windows to 1920 x 1080 24hz. P3D was fine at this refresh with very little stuttering as the PC was able to maintain 24 FPS. Mouse control was awful though and very sluggish with a 24hz desktop. I may also try 1080i 30Hz. That should be the sweet spot. Regards, Daz
