Go Arounds Loss of ILS Freq.

Featured Replies

I have been practicing Go-Around's using the Procedure in FCOM 1 Page NP.21.47.

For some reason after the G/A the  ILS is removed from the RAD/NAV page in the CDU and is replaced with PARK, am I doing something wrong or is this normal ?

I don't have the manual in front of me to reference, but I'd assume this is correct. After a go-around (which, to the airplane is indistinguishable from a missed approach), where are you going? It seems you're assuming you're going back to the same airport, and the same runway. That isn't always the case, so I wouldn't be surprised that it automatically parks the frequency until you re-select an approach.

Many thanks Kyle, I have just had a look in the manual (should have done that before posting here) and a Go-Around resets the ILS to Manual.

Thanks for posting back - good to know. I had a feeling that it was intentional/correct, but my reasons above were the best I could come up with as to the reason behind it.
