May 3, 200521 yr Hi Jack, it's unfortunate to hear you aren't making any progress despite the suggestions. I have a feeling this could be related to 'something hardware'. Remember I told you about the episode not being able to use 6xAA @ 1600x? Nevertheless, I'm puzzled like you are. To me it sounds a bit like AA might not be working at all? If moving the sliders doesn't change anything... How's about the framerates? Do they also not alter when you i.e. go from min to max AA/AF settings? One little trick to maybe force Ati adapters into 'submission', is, to move the AGP slider (SmartGart) back and forth and reboot the system. Don't ask me what happens, but occasionally this does help to let the card's features kick in properly. Another thing perhaps worth trying, is using a spare monitor -preferably a CRT- to run some tests at other resolutions. Do you have one? I'm asking because sometimes, drivers just don't do what they're supposed to do at certain resolutions, settings or using certain operating systems. Trees and as somebody else mentioned fences or certain parts of AC liveries can shimmer with Atis, but not the whole thing and as terribly as you're seeing. Hope this adds to thoughts, good luck and kind regards Jaap PS, I think it has been mentioned in the past, but Ati/FS-users would be best off with SuperSampling enabled drivers to remove the alphatest texture shimmers. I've written Ati a couple of times about this and they never bothered to reply. 'Funny enough', Mac users with Atis have this feature enabled..! AFAIK, only ca. 5% of the games use these kind of textures so we are a minority. I feel the more people raise this subject with Ati, the higher our chances to obtain a solution.
