P3D in Surround, Possible without huge fps drop?

Recommended Posts

Karrilon,

Do you use two separate "new" P3D views for the two 70 degree FOV side ports so they aren't so distorted - but lose some FPS from just a single forward view?

PC=9700K@5Ghz+RTX2070  VR=HP Reverb|   Software = Windows 10 | Flight SIms = P3D, CAP2, DCS World, IL-2,  Aerofly FS2

The three view method brings the sim to it's knees, I get between 8-12 FPS, so at the moment I put up with the fishbowl effect which doesn't seem that bad on a large display. The view angle you get in the Warrior cockpit when navigating VFR isn't really affected by the distortion but I'm hoping that Denali's distortion fix will eventually cover a 210 degree display.

Cheers

Richie
