Problem setting Heading after Track

Using the voice command to Track ("set track 270") the FCU changed to TRK/FPA mode with a track of 270deg. However, when I gave any of the heading commands (ie. "set heading xxx" or "pull heading xxx"), the FO only read back 270 without first setting HDG/VVS mode.  I had to manually set HDG/VVS to get back control.

 

This is a fault in the control/moding logic.  I was flying the new Aerosoft A319.
