November 26, 201411 yr In preparing my Windows 7/64 system for the UTX v. 2 upgrade, I first removed the UTX v.1 and attempted to remove SceneryTech Landclass NorthAmerica using the Windows 7 program uninstaller. My system hung up during the uninstall of the Landclass scenery, with the progress bar stopping at the halfway point, and then 10 minutes of the spinning ball. I then tried to cancel the uninstall, and this too caused the system to hang. As a last resort, I used Windows Task Manager to shut down the uninstall of the Landclass. The upgrade to UTX v.2 went fine, and afterwards, there is no listing of SceneryTech in my scenery library, and no listing of the program among the applications that Windows could uninstall. Since the uninstall of the Landclass scenery was aborted, is it possible that the landclass scenery could still be affecting my scenery files or Windows registry? Is there a means by which I can manually ensure that all traces of the landclass have been removed? I may be overcomplicating this, and perhaps installing UTX 2 was sufficient to overwrite any scenery files affected, but I want to keep the scenery file installation as clean as possible. The ST_LC_NA.bgl file is still included in a subdirectory of my FSX files folder. Thanks for any assistance, Rich
November 26, 201411 yr In preparing my Windows 7/64 system for the UTX v. 2 Firstly that ST_LC_NA.bgl file should not be there - I uninstalled mine so I cant tell you the folder structure now - can you post a screenshot of where it is so I can see what else is with it to tell you what to dump - I can help you out if you can do this - ST_LC_NA.bgl should be deleted and will cause no issues at all but want to see any other files that need to go bye bye also - thanks Rich Sennett
November 26, 201411 yr Author Rich, Thanks for the offer of help. Here's how it sets up: On my SSD (F) dedicated to FSX and its Add-ons, under my "FSXInstall" directory, I have two sub-directories with Landclass entries: 1. One level below FSX Install directory, these subdirectories and file: - Addon Scenery/SceneryTechLCNorthAmerica/ST_LC_NA.bgl 2. Also one level below the FSX Install directory, these subdirectories and file: - Scenery Tech/Landclass/NA/LCLookupAssembly1-4Install state Let me know if this is enough info to solve the issue, or if not, explain how I post a screenshot of what else you need. Obviously, I am a bit of a novice at this! Thanks Rich L.
November 26, 201411 yr Rich, Thanks for the offer of help. Here's how it sets up: Well after further investigation you can use it - so I will be installing it - to clear things up on your end I would re-install it - hope this helps Rich Sennett
