2D Popup Issue

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm having a problem with displaying 2D popup gauges. It worked for me before, the issue only happens after I reinstalled FSX and the aircraft pack (772). Anyone know what causes the issue and how to fix it? Please watch the screencast below for details.

Thanks,

Don

I figured out that transparent setting was set to 100% in my FSX setting panel. Changed it to 0 and all good now.

I figured out that transparent setting was set to 100% in my FSX setting panel. Changed it to 0 and all good now.

Other add-on companies have transparency settings for their 2D pop-ups (A2A to name one). If you don't set it back to 100% before closing the sim, FSX retains the setting and it'll mess with subsequent flights.

Additionally, if you adjust it and the sim doesn't exit cleanly (you see a windows error message or something after closing FSX), sometimes your change doesn't save. If I ever notice it, I usually make a note, finish the flight, and then force the setting back in my FSX config (don't remember the exact name, but it's a pretty obvious one like "panel transparency" or similar).

Glad you were able to track it down!

Hi Kyle, thank you for sharing the experience, it noted it down. It's right that fsx won't save any adjusted configurations if it crashed or quit improperly.

Good day!
