The one time the wife actually decided to watch me land in FS...

Great story!!

My wife shakes her head a bit, but I've always been heavily involved in a bunch of varying hobbies, so she's used to me.

I have gotten her interested in watching a few times; one that comes to mind was a flight over Death Valley with photo scenery in use.  We had just recently been on a trip to Las Vegas, and one of the things we had done was to rent a convertible and drive out there for the day.  So it was neat for both of us to see it from above, even if it was just in the sim.

My brother-in-law is always quite interested, since he had been in cadets when he was young and had progressed to his pilots license, which he let lapse a long, long time ago.  So when he visits with his family, he's always happy to take a seat and fly a bit in whatever new aircraft I have installed at the time.  He's inquired with me a few times at what he'd need to set up his own sim, but I think his wife has overheard a few times and kept him on the 'straight and narrow'.

My older two kids have never really shown much interest beyond a bit of for-fun flying with fast jets.  I do recall one time though where my son was flying and my daughter and I were having great fun in sneaking up behind him and pulling the throttle back when he'd turn his head.

My younger son enjoys sitting on my lap and watching the plane fly from an external view for about 30 seconds.  Then he takes a far greater interest in throttles, switches and keyboards, which of course has more 'interesting' results!
