Multiple spam attacks on FS related forums

Two FS forums that I visit have suffered multiple spam attacks in the last 24 hours and are still ongoing. Electronic Flight Bag and Topcat. Many of the posts are in Russian Cyrillic.

 

I've posted a PM to the administrator at EFB but have yet to hear from him.

 

I'm not aware of any others. It's possible I suppose they won't stop there. Hopefully AvSim's security will defeat them.

Ray, yeah, we are catching it too. That's why you are seeing some system slow down today. Our typical processor load averages 5 to 8 and this afternoon it climbed to over 27. That means that we are processing attempts and actively blocking them with our security systems.

Sorry to hear that Tom and I'm glad your systems are robust enough to cope. I'm sure we can cope with a slightly slower service if it means these idiots can't spam the boards.

 

Maybe the low oil price has piddled off some Russians but targeting FS related sites seems a strange way to vent your spleen. :rolleyes:
