737NGX "cinematic showcase"

Recommended Posts

Dear AVSIM/PMDG community,

this summer I purchased the PMDG 737NGX plus 737-600/700 AddOn and the 777-200LR/F.

I had just started doing some stuff with FSX again and I was amazed by the complexity of processes going on in a realistic plane. But since I already spent quite a lot of money on the fancy new planes (don't get me wrong, I knew how realistic PMDG planes are) I tried to understand as many of the systems as possible. (I'm still an amateur, but it gets better.)

Nonetheless, I still opted to make a YouTube video purely focusing on the looks of a Boeing 737NGX by PMDG. I hope you enjoy the video, and please don't hate, I'm still new to the aviation community.

Thanks a lot for your time,

Tom Spander

Well done! Keep them coming!

My only suggestion would be to include some of the great sounds built-into the NGX package. I don't know why so many video makers tend to hide these behind music.

This topic has been moved from "PMDG 737NGX" to "Aviation and Flight Sim Video Forum". This move has been done for a number of possible reasons.

  • The most likely reason is that the post was off topic.
  • The topic could also have contained images or a video that were not appropriate to the original forum it was posted in.
  • The images might not have been "illustrative" or "explanatory" in nature.
  • The topic could have been moved because we deemed it to be more appropriately placed elsewhere.

Thanks a lot.

The main reason for missing sound was that especially with AddOn scenery, I only get about 15-20fps when recording with Fraps. So I used the FSrecorder rendering and simply forgot to record the audio afterwards (usually, I use Audacity to record all system output in playback).

Since this is now in Aviation/Flight Sim Video forum (sorry, I got here via PMDG, didn't know about this subforum  ), I can share my other aviation videos as well. *quite a few incoming*

For example, before doing the 737 video, I tried a similar thing with the Triple Seven:

Yeeeah, I forgot the audio twice.

My newest video is a timelapse from EDDT to EDDM in default scenery with a Lufthansa 737-500. Unfortunately I had a weird flickering above ~20,000 ft, ignore that... :(

Hey, look, I can even add windows and demonstrate wingflex.

There's a few more, the 737 currently being one of my favorites, but I want to end off this unnecessarily broad showcase of my YouTube videos with real-life plane spotting, which I first tried this very month in the course of getting a camera with 90x "smart" optical zoom.

The sound was unusable in this one, I was aware of that.
