FS9 .cfg

Featured Replies

Hi,has anyone ever had an instance where each time they start up FS9 they have to re-set everything again and again,ie, all of a sudden I am faced with this.I have to re-set the display/sound/graphics/assignments etc all of the time,I have never had this before, and have not installed anything either, just wonderedthanks.PS if you have had this, what did you do to fix it,

Hi Steve,I haven't had this happen, but is it possible your fs9.cfg has somehow been set to "read only"?

Not "each time" but occasionally. After a power outtage, computer lockup and possibly under some other conditions which I have never been able to isolate. I have to go back and reactivate my CH Map, Axis and some keyboard assignments. What is strange is that all do not require resetting. I recommend periodically saving a copy of your fs9.cfg and device.cfg files as backups where you can just replace them, or edit them with a minimum of hassle when this happens.Good luck:RTH

It seems like your cfg has been corrupted. Try taking it out of it's folder & restarting FS. It'll then rebuild a new cfg. That should hopefully solve your problem

Steve,Search, for your your 'FS9.cfg.'You should have only one! and a 'Notepad' copy. You probably have more?I'm saying this because this happened to me also. It wasn't until I had to uninstall FS2004 that I realised what was going on.----------------------------------------------------------------Right, should I do another quick lap of the old Nurburgring circuit with 'GT4' or go flying?Dave T.
