AI TRAFFIC HUGE FPS DROP...

Featured Replies

Since turning off traffic I noticed a drastic decrease in stutteringOne of the major causes of stuttering - which by my definition is the sim freezing momentarly - is AI aircraft without parking. If you use Microsoft's tool to see how AI aircraft load in a separate window - you will see an AI aircraft go into initilization mode when it appears. If there is not a parking spot available, the program keeps searching - sometimes as long as five seconds.Microsoft has several warnings in it's documentation against adding more AI traffic than there is parking available. This initilization failure occurs not only when the sim startsThe famous "98% Loading Traffic" freeze up of the sim - no parking guys. But also in flight when an AI aircraft with no parking reaches 15 min before takeoff. The lack of parking at an airport 100 nm away can cause your flight sim to stutter, especially if you are flying toward that airport and becomes part of the active AI zone. That's one of the best things about Ultimate Traffic. They have AFCAD files with parking for all the aircraft in their flight plans.Might not be the most accurate AFCAD files - but at least they won't cause stutters.
