January 7, 201511 yr Hi, I'm having difficulties with the FMC in PMDG's Jetstream 41 addon, and a few posts have suggested that there may be an issue decoding the SIDs and STARs correctly? The FMC seems to routinely ignore anything other than a simple 'fix to fix' arrangement, so intercepts, for example, don't appear to work at all; plus there are a few other FMC quirks besides! Anyone wishing to test my theory, try flying the EXMOR1A SID from runway 30 out of Cardiff (EGFF). The correct procedure (ignoring vertical limits) is to fly on the runway heading to 4.0 DME from ICWA, then turn left to intercept the BHD57 (BHD 005 radial @ 57NM) on a 130 Track. In LNAV mode, all I can get the EHSI to give me is a direct track from the 4DME fix to BHD57. I appreciate I can use the LNAV1 selector to give me a continuous relative bearing, but I can't get the CDI to show the 130 Track as listed in the SID script, namely, "SID EXMO1A RNW 30 TRK 299 UNTIL 5.1 FROM FIX RW30 TRK 130 INTERCEPT RADIAL 005 FROM FIX BHD....." The SIDs and STARs seem to work perfectly in the 737-800/900 NGX and the 747-400X products. I was hoping to use it as a training aid, so if anyone has any bright ideas on how to fix/workaround this limitation, I'd be very grateful for your thoughts? It won't be the end of the World if it just doesn't work properly, just a bit disappointing. Other than my FMC issue, I think it's a truly remarkable sim, so congratulations to Precision Manuals. Many thanks. Neil Hicks
January 7, 201511 yr Neil you are right. The FMS used in the JS41 was not even certified for IFR RNAV but remember the vintage. It was quite advanced for it's time and greatly reduced the workload where you still navigated using VORs and beacons. Dan Downs KCRP
