Edit scenery .cfg

Featured Replies

Hi Maarten, Am learning how to make profiles. But the scenery icon is greyed out. The correct path is in the profile I can open scenery config from tools. Am trying to construct it as I read the manual. SL is networked using win7. Thanks.

Hi Reece,

Unfortunately you cannot edit the scenery.cfg file on a client machine. The scenery.cfg file often contains references to absolute paths on the server machine. To make it work on a client machine, users would have to be forced to share all those referenced folders on the server machine. In order to create profiles on a client machine with different scenery.cfg files, the scenery.cfg files must be created on the server first before you can point to them on the client.

You can however open and edit the scenery.cfg file in the built in text editor (using the 'Tools' dropdown menu on the same ribbon tab), but that's just a plain text editor without any validation.

thanks, Maarten

What if you could hook into “SceneryConfigEditor” v1.1.3?

Hi Chas,

What do you mean by that? The question was about editing the scenery.cfg file on a remote client. If not on a remote client, I already have a scenery.cfg editor, so I don't see any need to 'hook' into another scenery.cfg editor.

thanks, Maarten

My error Maarten, that's what I get for not completely R'ingTFM.

… Sorry for the oversight!
