May 20, 200521 yr Hi,I don't post much here or there but read multiple times daily. In the past couple years the addons continue to get better and better (which I own just about everyone there is...I'm an addon fanatic) which is good, but the downside is production time tends to stretch for months sometimes years. For example the Aeroworx B200 took probably 6-9 months (maybe more) to make it to market and now almost a year just for patch (in fairness an upgrade).I think all this comes down to consumers (us) wanting more and more advances and closer to reality which causes to production time to increase. My question is do you think eventually the cycle for one addon could take the entire cycle of Flightsim to produce? Meaning usually Microsoft releases a new version every two years, could it be we get one addon from the major developers every two years with no guarantee they work for the new version.Looking for you opinions.Sean Sean Green
May 20, 200521 yr Yeah, I think so. with the increase in PC power the design envelope will be pushed even further to achieve greater realism and to meet the expectations of simmers (paying customers) that have had a taste of what can be and don't want to accept anything less. I think the same can be said for freeware as well, as it is many times a one man show meaning even more time in development. As for the MS end of it, they state as long as you follow the SDKs you should be fine, but to get that extra edge, you sometimes have to think outside the box from what I have read, so there might be issues. Personally I feel the franchise needs to be revamped with a whole new engine for greater performance and this means no backward compatability (everyone cringes now! LOL) I wonder if the new XBOX will use BGLs?Curious as to how the next version will be.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
