I have two questions related to performance in FSX. Firstly, is it possible to disable the shadows effect in the cockpit that can be seen when turning the aircraft? I know you can turn off external shadows on the aircraft itself, which I have done. Secondly, if it is possible to disable this cockpit shadows effect, will it result in an increase in frame rates?

Firstly, is it possible to disable the shadows effect in the cockpit that can be seen when turning the aircraft?

 

No. This isn't really a shadows effect in the sense that FSX is shadowing things based on the flight deck geometry. It's simply shadowing things based off of the sun's position versus the direction your nose is pointing.

 

 

 


Secondly, if it is possible to disable this cockpit shadows effect, will it result in an increase in frame rates?

 

No.
