January 27, 201511 yr Greetings, I have just reinstalled my operating system and am in the midst of getting all of my applications and data back on. I made a copy of my modules folder before reinstalling. I hoped to make things a bit easier. LINDA starts ok and appears to operate without incident. The issue comes when I close the program. I get the windows message 'check for solution, close ,etc'. After I elect to close the program, I get two error messages. I dismiss those and I get a rude Windows noise. I have screenshots of the two error messages and a copy of the faulting text from Windows here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pvoq1wdoadzafhi/LINDAcrash.zip?dl=0 Perhaps I should not have just copied the modules folder over in the new installation. Maybe you could tell me what I need to do to get out of this. Thanks in advance. Regards, Graham Derreck CYMM
January 27, 201511 yr Hi Graham Thank you for the report. You included a blank/empty text file in the zip. Was this intentional? Were you closing LINDA on its own or with FSX? Is it happening everytime you close? Also you are using the beta test build I sent you (2.5.8). Can you look at the LINDA About page and give me the build number (in brackets)? January 27, 201511 yr Author Hi Andrew, Blank page unintentional...duh. Doesn't matter how it closes. Every time it closes. Am using 2.5.7 will double check. FYI LINDA is both faulting application and faulting module. Will upload proper data. FYI2 am going to keep lib-user, and config-hid files and try a fresh install. Will let you know. Thanks Regards, Graham Derreck CYMM
January 27, 201511 yr Author HI Andrew, I did a fresh install of LINDA. I kept the config-hid and lib-user files; and I reused the aircraft folders. All is good. I'm not sure why it's OK, but it is. If I can get you anymore info, pls let me know. I seem to be good at having issues that are either no fault of LINDA, or just go away. Here is the crash info that I decided not to send you earlier Faulting application name: LINDA.exe, version: 2.5.7.39, time stamp: 0x54a297b5 Faulting module name: LINDA.exe, version: 2.5.7.39, time stamp: 0x54a297b5 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0034aaeb Faulting process id: 0x29e0 Faulting application start time: 0x01d039f997f4ce72 Faulting application path: S:\P3D\Modules\LINDA.exe Faulting module path: S:\P3D\Modules\LINDA.exe Report Id: e941fc26-a5ec-11e4-b077-74d02b7f57b8 Thanks for the support. January 27, 201511 yr Hi Graham The latest info is for 2.5.7 (the formal release version) but one of the screen shots you sent earlier shows 2.5.8 on the top bar. Please right click on LINDA.exe and look at properties and details for the File Version. I will need to send you a new build to version the location of the dialog errors reports. The list above does not help me. Andrew Gransden Scotland, UK LINDA Support/Developer - VATSIM and BAVirtual - Airbus Flyer i7 1TB SSD GTX980 - FSX/P3D - Aerosoft Airbus A318/A319/A320/A321 - FS2Crew
January 28, 201511 yr Author Hey Andrew, The file version is 2.5.7.39. Thanks. Regards, Graham Derreck CYMM
February 13, 201511 yr Author Hey Andrew, I know this post is a bit dated, but the crash on closing reared its ugly head again. Just installed P3D 2.5. Latest FSUIPC, compatible with 2.5. Everything appears to be normal during operation. Faulting application name: linda.exe, version: 2.5.7.39, time stamp: 0x54a297b5 Faulting module name: linda.exe, version: 2.5.7.39, time stamp: 0x54a297b5 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0034aaeb Faulting process id: 0xe2c Faulting application start time: 0x01d047755a37e3d2 Faulting application path: S:\P3D\Modules\linda.exe Faulting module path: S:\P3D\Modules\linda.exe Report Id: 0c95490e-b36b-11e4-beba-74d02b7f57b8 After I dismiss the Windows close dialogue, I get an error popup: Exception EAccessViolation in module linda.exe at 0034AAEB. Access violation at address 0074AAEB in module linda.exe. Read address 000002C8 About LINDA page says: 2.5.7.39 This occurs whether the program is closed by FSUIPC or by me manually. I opened LINDA on its own to get the version info. When I closed it, it crashed. It's not the end of the world with this, but it would be nice to make it go away, in case it's symptomatic of something else. Thanks for looking in on this. Regards, Graham Derreck CYMM
February 14, 201511 yr Hi Graham Thank you for the info. I am in the middle of a 16 hour download of P3D 2.5. However, I have located the code that caused the crashes. The last one was a call to the logging functions at the same time as you were closing LINDA and there was probably no where to safely log it to. I have added a trap in the next release. The first 2 are related to creating Presets and re-loading the configuration. There was an error in this area which I have already addressed.
