DX10SceneryFixer Version 2.7 ready for download

Featured Replies

received this email today from flight sim store,

This email is to notify you that a new version of DX10SceneryFixer Version 2.7 has been made available for download.

Release Notes for v2.7

This is identical to 2.6 except that it can now better handle the scenario where FSX Steam Edition (SE) and FSX are installed on the same computer at the same time. With 2.7 the libraries can be switched from one system to another and the correct FSX configuration file is used.

when I tried to install libraries to FSX-SE the (change) path button is grayed out after I installed it to FSX-MS, does that mean I can't install libraries to both simulations at the same time?

Yes - its not me being funny - but if the libraries are installed in both systems it causes problems on updates, uninstalls and tracking timestamps on effects. All the logic was written on the basis that there was a single system.

The process to switch is uninstall libraries, change path, install libraries.

All settings are retained and it shows you the DX9/DX10 and AA settings from the system you have selected.

You can flip as many times as you like.

I considered redesigning the whole GUI to have two paths, or use separate config files (which would require everyone to do a full uninstall losing all settings). I considered a separate DX10 controller for SE that uses fsx-se.cfg but that is confusing because for a standalone SE you would want to use the standard controller which uses fsx.cfg.

In the end I decided that inconveniencing the majority who have a single system was the wrong way to go.
