May 30, 200521 yr Ron,Question? Is 'As real as it gets' throwing the passengers around at decision height while following a flight plan direction change with autopilot engaged? This is a question that 'PSS' have not answered in their forum. It doesn't happen with other payware aircraft so, why have 'PSS' ignored it?----------------------------------------------------------------Dave T. Dave Taylor
May 30, 200521 yr Probably because it's not a common problem or easily replicated by PSS. Personally it has never happened to me in 3 years with the PSS A319s to 321s. The A330/A340s have been more prone to such problems but revised flight dynamics by Bob Scott has sorted out most of these. I think his site is down for the momeht so if you want his files send me an email.I firmly agree with the posts above regarding merging the iFDG models and FDE with the PSS panel for the A318, A319, A320 and A321. It's the best combination on the market at the moment. One of the factors that is hindering development of a new Airbus package with the same degree of systems modelling as the Level D 767 or the PMDG Boeings is that Airbus is very reluctant to release data to sim developers. This is in contrast to Boeing who I believe have been very good in this area.
May 30, 200521 yr G'day GuysI just wish someone would really model the 320 to the depth that is needed to see the fundamental differences between the Airbus and Boeing philosophies. It really is not until you start doing emergency training that you see the diff's really come out.The concept of the use of ECAM and paperless cockpit really come to the for.So far only A320 PIC have shown this to any extent and very well at that.Given the amount of talk about that sim i was pleasantly surprised to find the depth of which the systems where modelled. The PSS 320 does a great job on introducing you to the way an Airbus flies but none have accurately shown the whole package. If somehow we could get the the systems modellingfrom A320PIC into the PSS bus then we would be on the way.Someone please do a full job of the BUS!!Darren
May 30, 200521 yr I'm a little confused over the PSS offering. Maybe somebody can point out the bit of the manual I should have read or something. The problem I can't solve with the PSS one is there is no flight law implemented. You have to manually trim and it will let you stall, overbank, not to mention a few other things that Airbus' don't do unless you press the override button (which shoud light and say "don't press me again!"). The PSS one does not appear to be flybywire, if not what's the point?
