Air Hauler and P3D2.5

Recommended Posts

I know JF is releasing Air Hauler 2 with P3D compatibility in the "near" future (Q2?), but I was wondering if anyone has experience running the current version of Air Hauler with P3D2.5. I've grown tired of FSEconomy, and thought I'd give AH a try.

I have the Migration Tool, if this is necessary to install.

Thanks much!

I've been using it in P3D 2.4 for awhile now with no problems, just  make a copy your Prepar3D.exe file rename it to fsx.exe drop into your Prepar3D root folder , In the options settings in AirHauler, point to the Prepar3d installation. You do this so that when Airhauler  activates your selected job it is looking for the fsx.exe, in this case it is really the prepar3D.exe that has been renamed fsx.exe.

You'll have to copy the default FSX Cessna aircraft over to the Prepa3D aircraft folder so that Airhauler can pick it as the default as you start out until you earn enough cash and accumulate your reputation to purchase another aircraft, from then on just import your Prepar3d aircraft you have installed into the AirHauler aircraft as you need them.

The Airhauler flight planner doesn't work when running in P3D but just create the selected Airhauler job route in P3D planner, fly you job, everything else works as if using FSX.

Don't see why this method shouldn't work with P3D 2.5 without using the Migration tool.

If you have FSX and Prepar3D installed and you want to use Airhauier for both, you will have to copy you Airhauler Folder with all the files to another location, rename the Folder Prepar3D, delete the company ah9 and ahX mdb files so that you can start your new company in P3D.

You now have two separate Airhauler installations, one for FSX, the other for P3D, both point to each respective platforms through their setup preferences.

Thanks much for the response and insight. I just read through manual, and it appears I can start on a medium difficulty with the C208. I would like to use my Carenado 208, so...

If I import the Carenado 208 into AH, and start a new profile on medium difficulty, do I still need to copy the default FSX 172 in to P3D? Or will I need the FSX 172 installed regardless to make AH run properly?

I own a boxed FSX, and purchased the SE version (on sale) as a digital backup. Neither are installed at the moment, and I don't plan on installing in the future.

Thanks again for your insight.

Install them both, you can delete them after you start using one of your installed P3D aircraft. I realized after making this post that P3D2.5 has a different scenery folder structure, I'm not sure how this will affect AH accessing them. I've been holding off using P3D2.5 until all of the 3rd party developers update to 2.5, I'm sick of doing complete re-installs after each LM update. If you have P3D 2.4  installed experiment using AH with that.

Air Hauler will work just fine with P3D v2.5. I'm using it right now.

Yes, P3D v2.5 has moved the scenery.cfg file to C:/ProgramData/Lockheed Martin/Prepar3D v2. Once you create your new company, select the scenery.cfg file from this directory and import it. You will then be able to see all installed aircraft in p3d without need of copy over any fsx ones.

Also, it is best in this case to use wideFS option with AirHauler as the flight plan stuff does not work. As was mentioned in earlier post, you will just have to create a filght plan in p3d with respective air craft and start/destination airports. Air Hauler will still load fuel/cargo once you are at in correct air craft at correct airport and selected WideFS.

Happy Flying!!!!
