Do we need a separate Simconnect Category for P3D?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm in the process of moving from FSX to P3D V2.5 and beyond. Unlike the FSX forum, P3D does not have a separate forum for Simconnect, where specific questions about this topic can be addressed.

I currently have a network PC setup for FSX, but I'm about to replace this PC with a faster PC, and want to setup Active Sky, PFPX, and ProATC for P3D, but I'm not quite sure how to link to P3D?

It appears that I will have to install the FSX versions of simconnect (which there are three) on this network PC, and possibly the P3D ESP version of simconnect. From what I can tell, most developers are still using the legacy FSX simconnect version to interface to P3D, but where does the P3D ESP version of simconnect come into play?

I would like to request that the forum moderator set up a separate category for this topic as networking seems to be used by a number of people.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the topic of simconnect (FSX and P3D versions).

There is a separate category under FSX, why not one for P3D?
