  1. Thanks Ken for clarifying that! As to using Spad.next, that may conflict with my Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS, which has the capability to download a specific profile for each A/C I fly. I'm just not sure how that would work? Once the custom profile is downloaded and executed inside the HOTAS processor, the only software running is the special USB driver for the HOTAS hardware. Bill Clark
  2. Ken, Thanks for your original post...........I am considering using vPilot as you have suggested as I have a network, but I'm not quite sure how vPilot interacts with P2A? Why do I need vPilot if the combination of FSUIPC and WideFS is capable of sending the PTT character I have chosen to send to the client PC across the network? Pressing the pre-defined FSUIPC joystick button on the server PC where P3D is located will send it across the network? Do I need to install vPilot on both the client and server? I'm a little confused. Bill Clark
  3. Great News Clive, I look forward to trying this out once released. Bill Clark
  4. To All, I went back and tried it with Notepad and was successful....................it appears everything has to be perfect or else it will not work. So I must have had a mistake in it. I did, as before, use ANSI Again, thanks, Bill
  5. Andre, I apologize as I missed your post. I acted on Vic's automated response first and missed yours buried further down in my email stack. Yes, I took your modified file, renamed it EXE.XML and pasted it back into the folder I had originally taken it from. So after installing Java, Javier's carrier was available in the "Add-On" pull down menu so I was able to launch it and overfly to see it was moving and appeared to be properly configured. Once I install a carrier plane into P3D, I'll verify that the catapults and arresting gear works............I see no reason why it shouldn't. Once again, I thank you for taking your valuable time and making the modification for me!! Cheers, Bill Clark I'm not sure why my efforts failed, as I have done this before unless I need to do something different with Windows 10?
  6. Vic, Which tool should I be using for this task? Notepad or NotePad ++ Bill Clark
  7. Hi Poppet, I running P3D v3.35 under Win 10 (a recent clean install). You are probably correct about using the wrong header code. The file I'm attempting to modify is the Exe.xml located in the AppData\Roaming section. I have tried using NotePad and Notepad++ unsuccessfully so far. The file I'm trying to modify by adding AICarriers looks like this below: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252" ?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>EXE.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Name>GoFlight Hardware Interface</Name> <Path>C:\GoFlight\GFDevP3D.exe</Path> <CommandLine></CommandLine> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> What I want to add is the AICarrier segment from an older exe.xml file below from my P3D v2 Win 7 setup to the file above: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>exe.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Couatl</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>fsdreamteam\couatl\couatl.exe</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Name>AICarriers</Name> <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\AICarriers\aicarriers.exe</Path> <CommandLine>-nogui</CommandLine> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>as_btstrp_config_manager</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>as_srv\as_btstrp_config_manager.exe</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Name>GoFlight Hardware Interface</Name> <Path>C:\GoFlight\GFDevP3D.exe</Path> <CommandLine> </CommandLine> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> However, whenever I make changes and save the file, it ends up looking something like this: Launch EXE.xml False False False False GoFlight Hardware Interface C:\GoFlight\GFDevP3D.exe False False AICarriers C:\Program Files (x86)\AICarriers\aicarriers.exe -nogui So which app do you use, Notepad or Notepad ++? Bill Clark
  8. Hi All, I'm trying to add Javier's Carrier to P3D v3.35. I have it installed, but I have been unable to edit the EXE.XML file to add the necessary entries for the carrier. For whatever reason, when I go to save the edited results from NotePad, the saved file gets corrupted and does not look anything like what it should. Is Notepad the correct tool, or should I be using something else? Bill lark
  9. Jim, I did not know that was a copyright rule violation! I gather the link is ok? I hope Spirit Flyer can get access..............it seems to me there should be an email address he can send a message about this? One suggestion to all, get a loose leaf note book with removable blank pages and note each website you frequent with the Title (website name), email address/handle/userID, and of course password. I started mine a few years ago and I'm up to 98 individual websites or forums. This includes a ton of sim websites, but also medication, newspapers/magazines, etc. This saves a lot of grief. Bill Clark
  10. I was about to copy and post, but Mike beat me to it. Stephen, have you tried emailing Orbx to see if they can help you? Bill Clark

  12. I downloaded the latest Navigraph files for some of my A/C and other utilities. Unfortunately, Navigraph has yet to include a version for P2A. I hope they do so soon. Bill

  16. Hi All, Recently, I noticed that I can no longer view videos, or YouTube video is HD, 1080p or higher. I'm using the latest Windows Internet Explorer version 11. This was a recent change. What is going on? Bill Clark
  17. Hi Dave, I'm still having an issue with being stranded at a given altitude and being passed off from departure to center; I was cleared to 8,000.............but left hanging there at 8K for a while. The eventually I was cleared to 15,000, but left hanging......after a long while I paused the sim and stopped flying. In addition, it seems I'm not being handed off from departure, to center #1, to the next center #2, etc., in a timely manner. This is the second flight I have taken since the you came out with version 2.0.0.2......experienced this on both flights. I'm sure I'm not doing everything as quickly as I should, or even correctly. So I have some user interface suggestions I would like to propose: 1) The Com Freq dialog box when you update the standby frequency, appears in the upper right hand corner of the display. From a visual perspective, it may be handier if it appeared just above the com/nav freq display in the lower left hand corner. I run a full display on a network PC 2) A couple of things to speed up use of the "Gramer Help" tool. Set up a joystick or key stroke for the so we can quickly bring up the dialog box. I feel really pressed for time to respond!!! 18. Hi Dave Three big issues jumped out at me on this flight; 1. Once I had achieved my cruise altitude of 27,000 feet, I was asked by Center to expedite climb to 27,000 several times as I recall. My TOD was different than P2A's. 2. When cleared to descend to 25,000 which was about 36 miles prior to PMDG's TOD, I complied. However, I was left at the altitude so long that there was no way I was going to land at RWY 07L at KPHX because I was way too high. 3. Had I been granted the proper descent, I should have been cleared to AMBRR and then to FOWLE for a straight in approach to RW 07. Unfortunately, P2A appeared to direct me all the way out to TUKEE, which was way out of the way. I terminated the flight at this point. When I was flying ProATC I ran into this same issue where there is a difference between the NavDataPro versus the Navigraph. It appears, at least from my simplistic view, that NavDataPro is more European centric, and Navigraph is more USA centered. By switching from NavDataPro to Navigraph, I was able to fly the ARLIN3 approach they way it was intended. See the new text file below. As a suggestion, you may want to fly this route to see for yourself how these two WW regions differ as to how they deal with SID's and STARS? 19. Dave, I'm running the same flight plan again today........and I have gotten farther then yesterday.......my question is: When I'm either passed from Departure to Center. or fro, one Center to another Center, there does not appear to be what I would think an appropriate response in your pull down menu's in the Grmr menu?" What should I be requesting or Reporting or saying? Bill
  20. Hi, I grew up in Cheyenne WY, and as a kid back in the 1950's, used to ride my bicycle out to the local airport and spend long summer days at the Air National Guard hanger. My best friend and I spent a lot of time walking around the tarmac and inside the hanger, looking at P-51's, and later, the F-80. We were allowed to go anywhere we wanted, and the only thing we were ever warned about, was not to climb on the A/C. Also, a lot of transient aircraft, including Navy planes would land there. There was a lot of activity at this base. At the time, believe it or not, United Airlines housed a training center for flight attendants there. I remember, a few years later, some of the more socially mature HS classmates of mine used to date the "Stews," as they were called back then. The highlight of one summer occurred when I was invited to sit in the command pilots seat of a B-29. They apparently had to adjust an engine......so I got to watch them run an engine start on the left wing, while sitting near the flight engineer.............I was pretty high for a week after that experience. Can you imagine a 11 or 12 year old kid today being offered an opportunity to sit in a B-52? When I went back to my last class reunion a few years ago, you can no longer get into to the airport area where the WYO National Guard is now flying C-130's. Sadly, those "Good Old" days are gone forever. Ah, what a memorable time in my young life.............. Bill
  21. Hi Dave, Thanks...... One more observation I should mention about the text data posted above, is that I was told to maintain 230 knots after passing LOWMA heading towards POGGI. The PMDG 737 I fly appears to be programmed to increase the airspeed to 250 knots after LOWMA. So I am assuming that once passing LOWMA it is ok to move up to the 250 knot speed restriction. In addition, as I recall even when I was above 10,000 feet, I was given the ATC warning not to exceed 230 knots......which surprised me. You may want to check this out as well? I will keep flying this route until I get the ATC process and hope to complete it successfully......there is a lot to learn about ATC protocol. On a positive note, I sure do like your new interface. Because I run on a networked PC, and I can show P2A in full screen, having access to the approach plate is really a nice feature! Bill
  22. Larry, I misread your comment.......Where the red line ends is next to the fence where you stood many years ago. It is too bad security is so restrictive.....when I was a kid I used to hang out on summer days and there were hardly any restrictions! Bill
  23. Hi, I had three problems with this flight from KSAN to KPHX (See the embedded file below). 1) Departure gave me an takeoff altitude clearance of 3,000 feet, which seems pretty low for an airliner. 2) I flew a long time at 3,000 feet and I had to request my cruising altitude, which was 27,000 feet 3) The last issue, sometime time after takeoff, there was no handoff to Center from departure. After that there was no further communication. Except for the low clearance altitude, I'm probably not doing something correctly. There is no doubt I'm getting better at setting up a flight as I get more comfortable with the menus, but the ATC lingo is going to take some time. Any suggestions?
