Regional Planes

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am looking at what's out there for the regional aircraft and I was wanting to know what the current opinion is on a couple that I have seen.

I know the Majestic Q400 is the Favorite in this category but what are the others like. On the following criteria.

I was hoping to find out: How well its modelled, how nice the VC is, the sounds and the ease of use for the following

BAE 146/AVRO Series - Looks like a good product but not many around in real life

ATR-72 - Very popular here in Europe, not sure what the FSX version is like

BAE J4100 - Never heard of it before

Is there anything more modern out there?

I think I could stretch to the small Airbus or Boeing to as I know everytime I fly from the UK to Spain or Italy its normally on an Airbus

The Q400 is a top notch turboprop; next from your list would be the PMDG JS4100 (less system depth, but very enjoyable).

The Flight1/DA ATR is just too aged; you will not like the VC when comparing it to recent releases.

The BAe146/Avro jet collection has medium system depth, looks good graphically, and is a real deal, regarding the bundle of types, variants and FMC implementations (two different FMCs, depending on type and variant).

Easiest to use are the Avros from the QW collection, IMO. (Autothrottle, VNAV and jet engines help a good deal here.)

I run all of them in FSX-MS, so pls. make sure you will have SE compatibility.

I am steering towards the BAE pack as its is listed on the steam forum as working with SE, plus I like the looks of it and the fact its easy to fly
