Hi all,

I currently have P3D v2.5, with FTX (global+vector), PMDG 777,Aerosoft airbus, some Aerosoft airport addons and some FSDT addons. Using ASN for weather.

I am getting pretty low fps - 10-15 fps in airports and sometimes over the air. With modest p3d settings as well.

 

These are my current specs:

 

Intel® Core i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680

Memory: 8 GB

Microsoft Windows 8.1 (build 9200), 64-bit

A rather old computer case with many USB hubs malfunctioned already....

 

I am planning to get a new rig. 

Please assist me with some recommendations for  specs that will allow to actually enjoy flying with smoothness and high fps.... don't want to play with that anymore. Just flying with high settings and use all of my addons without fps noticeable drop.

I dont know all the prices in my country yet.... but it may be okay. Will it be okay to stay with the GTX 680? I believe my bottle neck is the CPU....

I would recommend that you get a video card with 4g of ram.  What does your 680 have?

 I am not at home but i think its 2GB or RAM? how much difference does it make?
