April 6, 201511 yr Hello, Just finish my first full flight with the 777, what a wonderful plane, thanks you PMDG. I do have one question, I usually fly in the full screen mode (with VC cockpit view1) and I open the Overhead Lower Panel (view 2) in a second screen located on top of my main one, on the second view none of the Knob/Switch works, if I move the mouse over them nothing happens. But if I fly in windows mode then everything works fine. I also notice that the instrument menu doesn't offer a view of the overhead panel, nor their is a hot spot for it. I have try the MD-11, 747 and the 737ngx from PMDG and they all work find in full screen, so it is not FSX:SE that seems to be the problem. Anyone experience this issue before? April 6, 201511 yr I also notice that the instrument menu doesn't offer a view of the overhead panel, nor their is a hot spot for it. Hi, Pierre, I can only answer part of your question: there is no 2D popup for the overhead panel as there is in the NGX. So nothing can be included in the list of panel options to open as a window. This thread might be of further help: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/420169-multiple-monitors-undocking-panels/?hl=%2Bmonitors Mike
April 6, 201511 yr Author Thank you Mike It seems to me that it will be harder and harder to fly with a muti-monitor setup. Having a overhead monitor to run the overhead panel seems to made sense to me, and it those replicate the reality of a cockpit layout. April 6, 201511 yr Yes I agree. But if you where to invest in addon software that allows you to create camera views and link them to key presses....then problem solved. (I use OpusFSI for that) As for knobs not working.... I have the FMC and MCP (2D popup) on a 2nd monitor and that works fine. The overhead panel on a second monitor would require you to open up a second FS view (due to the lack of an overhead 2D panel)....and that cuts frame rate by about 50%. So I have never tried that, nor will I....my key presses to overhead panel/pedestal/Capt view/FO view/etc work just fine and all without frame rate losses! Rob Robson
April 7, 201511 yr Author Thank you Rob, I will definitely look in to this addon Pierre Pierre Nantel Asus Prime Z690-A | Intel I9-13900K | 64 Gb Corsair 2666Mhz DDR4 | 3XSamsung 960 M.2 SSD | Gigabyte RTX4090 | Win 11 | MSFS 2020-2024|
April 7, 201511 yr I will definitely look in to this addon Hi, Pierre, It is possible to assign hot keys to the existing views in your aircraft (including upper and lower overhead, pedestal, etc.) by editing the aircraft.cfg file for the aircraft you want to modify. Here is a thread on how this works in FSX: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/58504-assigning-10-hotkeys-to-10-views-here-is-how/page-3 Mike
