June 27, 200520 yr You could use either of the FSAvionics freeware offerings - either their FSGarmin or FSFlightMax displays. Either one can display scanned sectional maps; I downloaded a sectional of my area (Northern California) from Avsim. There is a forum for the FSAvionics stuff on Avsim:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=178It will take some detailed reading of the FAQs to find the download paths for the various files you'll need, and to get things working with FS9. It's all there though - last year I got both products working on a remote PC (via WideFS) with FS9, displaying sectionals.Note that the FSGarmin, even though it is "wrapped around" the same Garmin Trainer that the RXP product uses, is not quite as capable in some ways - primarily in the way it interfaces with the autopilot and nav instruments. That said, for free software it and the FSFlightMax are great contributions!Dave Blevins System: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 mobo *** i7 2700K @ 5gHz w/ Corsair H80 cooler NVidia GTX 570 OC *** 8 GB 1600 Corsair Vengeance DRAM *** CoolerMaster HAF X case System overclocked and tuned for FSX by fs-gs.com Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog stick/throttle & CH Products Pro Pedals Various GoFlight panels *** PFC avionics stack
June 27, 200520 yr I would highly recomend the SimFlyer's GPS. It is a representation of the Garmin MX20. I have it and enjoy it with my PC-12. Well worth it to me. It also gives you the option to load up Sectional Chart bmp files. So you can look at the actual area you are flying. These you would have to add yourself, but a neat feature of the Garmin MX20.:DHere is the website for you to check it out. http://www.simflyer.net/shop/Kev
June 27, 200520 yr Cool, How difficult would it be to install the regular FS9 GPS In the PC-12? I just need terrain mapping I have been flying in the Himalayan's and that would make this plane the cream of the crop for that..Been hugging some of the canyons pretty tight... Thanks All,
June 29, 200520 yr >>The default FS2004 GPS?>>How would I go about installing the default FS2004 GPS in the PC-12 Pilatus. Like I said I am only interested in the terrain I am flying especially flying low airfields in the Himalayan's I need it.. Thank You,
June 29, 200520 yr If there are any good maps of this Himalaya region, you could consider to scan and calibrate them and use them via GPSout in a mapviewer (Oziexplorer) on a second PC. It is the way I fly in Misty Fjords Alaska nowadays. For more accurate info on this, search for posts of Uwe (Rademacher), he is a specialist.Herrie
