June 29, 200520 yr After so many problems w/ SquawkBox3 I have decided to reinstall FS9 (Yes, I went through SB3 forum for help, but nothing has worked so far). I deleted FS9 and reformatted the partition I use soley for FS9. The installation went fine until on Disk 4 I got an error indicating WORLD.CAB couldn't be completley copied. I looked at my CD and saw that it has a large smudge of some sort that I am unable to remove. The installation gave me the option to 'Ignore' the error and continue. The rest of the installation went fine. I was able to start and run FS9, however a 'Scenery Read Error' showed up. FS9 continued to load into the default flight at Seattle but now most of my scenery is a solid blue color!! Can someone e-mail an original WORLD.CAB file?? to Hookandbook2(at)Yahoo.com ...now that I think of it, this post may be deleted....I guess there may be copyright issues here. I swear I bought it!....what else can I do?-=MAB=- Mike Brown
June 29, 200520 yr Author Seems like I'll need to contact MS for a replacement CD. Anyone do this with them? How much will it cost me? Am I better off just buying it again, it goes for $30 these days.-=MAB=- Mike Brown
June 29, 200520 yr Can you do nothing about the 'smudge'? I wash my disks in washing up liquid and dry with a quality glass cloth (nothing in the manufacture of that type of cloth to scratch a disk). That usually gets rid of seemingly immovable marks.Otherwise buy a new copy - cheaper than wrecking your life for a couple of weeks (or more) waiting for the disk to arrive. :-grr William Hall
June 29, 200520 yr Author I called MS this morning. After getting my address they are sending a copy of my Disc 4 to me. It may take a while, but I'd rather wait then pay for FS again.-=MAB=- Mike Brown
