June 30, 200520 yr Don't you just love it when something totally bizarre happens with FS2004?I just tried using it today, & whenever I try to 'Go To' an airport, it sends me to the North Pole!? No matter which airport I entered, it would shift me there.I then tried loading an existing flightplan - with the same result.I rebooted, & found when I tried to use Go To airport box there were about 20 entries for '102 Mile Ranch' in Afghansitan(!!) & nothing else.I deleted the Fs9.cfg file to allow a rebuild but the problem remains. I then deleted the entries in the My Documents?Flight Simulator Files folder (as that has given me problems in the past) but still no solution. Can anyone help with this bizarre problem? I am trying to avoid a total re install & am hoping someone knows which file might be corrupt?ThanksPeter
June 30, 200520 yr It's the Santa Claus conspiracy. :DSorry, dumb joke. Holy crap, that's weird. Maybe you can recover the original world scenery from the FS9 DCs without having to do a total reinstall?
June 30, 200520 yr It gets stranger. I load the default flight at KSEA, & the GPS shows all the airfields/navaids etc. which means it can't be a facility file/AFCAD problem. Then I noticed there are no AI aircraft at KSEA? There should be the default ones plus all the Project AI I have on it. I slew to Boeing Field & there ARE AI aircraft there. I slew to another small airfield & there is AI there. I slew to KPDX - no AI. But that means it IS a facility file/AFCAD problem! So I figure that's a clue. I reinstall my original traffic.bgl file but it doesn't fix it. So I recompile the traffic.bgl file (clutching at straws by now OK!). Bingo - I now have AI aircraft. I then try to use Go To window & it WORKS! So I guess the problem was a corrupt traffic030528.bgl! Man , what a vague problem! I hope this post helps someone else in the future!Peter

June 30, 200520 yr I've just lost a bunch of my scenery as well: most, if not all, of the airports in and around Anchorage AK have just disappeared! What do you mean by "The FS9 DC's?"Basil
June 30, 200520 yr >I've just lost a bunch of my scenery as well: most, if not>all, of the airports in and around Anchorage AK have just>disappeared!>>What do you mean by "The FS9 DC's?">>BasilTypo. That was supposed to be the FS9 CDs.
June 30, 200520 yr Commercial Member Howdy, don't know about the AI behavior but the issue with the Goto Airport menu could be related to my Columbia River Gorge add-on. If you have it installed please read this thread: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...topic_id=240404And for the issue with the missing Anchorage area it's probably some landscape add-on for that area that you installed but then uninstalled incompletely (i.e., forgot to reverse some changes to the default landscape files). What particular add-on did you use in that area?Cheers, Holger
July 1, 200520 yr Author I wonder if the original problem could have been a bad scenery.dat file, perhaps the one in sceneryworld or another one, and recompiling the traffic.bgl caused the library manager to rebuild the scenery.dat files, which fixed things?scott s..
