Keyboard assignments gets reset without notice

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have an annoying problem with my keyboard assignments which often gets reset without notice.

This is the situation:

I disable the controls from FSX, delete most of keyboard commands in FSX, and I assign all the keyboard commands I actually use in FSUIPC.

I am using Saitek controls (yoke, quadrant, pedals, trim wheel, panel switch) and EzDok cameras

I am essentially using only F1-F12 on my keyboard, everything else is on my control's buttons.

I noticed that sometimes my USB controls (Saitek) don't get properly recognised at startup and need to be unplugged and plugged again. When I do that (with FSX still not running) and then I run FSX I see that most of the keyboard assignments are reset in FSX! Very annoying because then they don't work anymore through FSUIPC. The only ones that seem to resist are the ones I associated in FSUIPC to pop out windows of A2A aicrafts (like hangar or walk-around).

I already tried to overwrite the Standard.xml file in both locations (FSX\ and Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\, but it still gets corrected...

I would like a clean system to delete once for all keyboard assignments in FSX, so that I can just use FSUIPC.

Since problems happen with Saitek unplugged/replugged, I suspect this has to do with some Saitek program that automatically re-write the Standard.xml file in FSX. What could it be? Can I get rid of it?

I hope this is clear (not so much to me....)

Any help, please?
