July 11, 200520 yr The first 3 taps control the flaps, allowing you to perform conventional takeoffs. In other words, its the flap lever. Tap it more than 3 times (once the flaps are already fully deployed) and it becomes the nozzle lever. That's why they are seperate. Typtical Harrier operations from airbases use conventional takeoffs/landings just to save engine life. The Pegasus engines have a fairly short life compared to more conveniontal ones because their workload is so high. Infact Harriers are limited to only a few minutes of full power per flight. The engine can practically run itself to destruction much like the MiG-25 when it exceeded Mach 3.
July 11, 200520 yr :-)Well I didn't know.So far I'm unable to use the included scenery (not working propely and missing taxiways buildings and apron).I hope they fix it along with other things but from the look of it I've just wasted 24.99 dollars. And simmarket doesn't want to refund me even though they led me to believe that the full scenery was included.Well their description page said so, however the installed scenery is far from complete. So far SIMMARKET NO NO NO.RegardsLuca
July 11, 200520 yr Luca, my version of the airport looks complete, even went to the UKScenery2000 site to comfirm and short of AI, it looks fine, although not to my taste. Simmarket states no refunds and this is what I expect with online shopping as most don't give them (Flight1 an exception). Despite this "misunderstanding" the Harrier is a great product and I feel I got my moneys worth, I just hope Rob gets compensated if this is indeed his work copied from the other 3rd party.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
July 11, 200520 yr Hello All, first to Tom A and Ken, Hope you got throught Dennis ok, Ken -- we made it through ok with little damage except being without power for 29 hours -- its now back on and I feel like I won the lottery LOL.As for the DBS file item, I'm really awaiting the results of some type of probe or an answer from DBS on this one -- I have a hard time buying the publisher not being able to contact the author about his errant files.Best to all, glad Dennis is over,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. July 12, 200520 yr I think I should just quickly point out that DSB and DBS are two different add-on developers. DSB Design is the group at question regarding the Harrier, while DBS Studio made the fantastic Walk And Follow module available via IGfly.Just to avoid potential confusion.
July 13, 200520 yr Hello, problem solved!it was the scenery complexity slider set to normal. since I raised it to 'very high' I'm getting all the features :)regarding the AC I'm happy the way it is except the extreme difference layouts between 2d panels and virtual cockpits.I wish they will add more subpanels with analogue fuel gauges and annunciators (the gauges are there, it just the matter of implementing them). And so far the most frustrating thing is the dark hud at night. It should be bright green :-)If you know anybody willing to create a custom panel for it please let me know!RegardsLuca>Luca, my version of the airport looks complete, even went to>the UKScenery2000 site to comfirm and short of AI, it looks>fine, although not to my taste. July 13, 200520 yr Good Lord, what's going on down in engineering on that ship?I share an office with a Navy Lieutenant who is a former engineer on an LHD, and his reaction to the above photo was, "Oh. THAT's not good."Kurt "Yoda" Kalbfleischwww.simulomundusrex.blogspot.com Best Regards, Kurt "Yoda" Kalbfleisch Pinner, Middx, UK Beta tester for PMDG J41, NGX, and GFO, Flight1 Super King Air B200, Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang, Flight1 Cessna 182, Flight1 Cessna 177B, Aeroworx B200
July 13, 200520 yr You can change the HUD colour to bright green by pushing a button (marked BRT) on the panel to the bottom right of the HUD. GR7's usually use a white HUD mind ;)

July 13, 200520 yr Dave,I've worked out a flight model for a cute Add-on called the "Jupiter 2" of Lost in Space fame. Its flight envelope stretches from around 10 kts. forward speed to roughly 3000 ktas at altitude. Still, 10 kts. isn't a hover, but I find a 10 kt. headwind and essentially I do have hover when I need it. It's a fudge, but it certainly helps.I second the idea of vectored thrust in the next sim...it would open up a whole new niche of aircraft design.-John
