July 5, 200520 yr I am seriously thinking of buying Airliner Pilot, but before I spent 60 bucks, I want to make sure that it is an excellent program. I couldnt find any reviews on it, thats why I am posting here. If you own Airliner Pilot, how do you like it?Thanks Anthony
July 5, 200520 yr I do not own it. It looks good on paper, however, it looks like as you move up the ranks you move to the default planes that FS9 uses. These are far from realistic. I would spend the same amount of money on a decent payware plane, or even a freeware that is up to par. Then go on VATSIM, join a virtual airline and enjoy the benefits of Airliners for free, with the added realism of real people flying and a highly detailed airplane. I do not know, maybe the airliner part Airliner Pilot makes up for having to use the default planes, like I said, I do not own it.
July 6, 200520 yr You can use your own planes. In the below video it says you can import your favorite addon aircraft.ftp://80.68.88.211/jf/videos/apilot.zipJimCYWG
July 6, 200520 yr And, as an alternative, just around the corner is FS Passengers, expected to be released within a couple of weeks. You'll find it here: http://www.fspassengers.com//Jan B.
July 6, 200520 yr Its a bit like being made redundant and starting with another airline that dosen't recognize your abilities.Ok, I suppose if you like 'running with the hounds instead of hunting with the hunters'.Personally, Its taken me a long time of asking questions and studying to be able to sit in the left-hand seat and do TWO mens work. I ain't ready to go back again.Only 'Masochists' will buy this program ;-)Dave T. .........On the lovely warm Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/ Dave Taylor
July 6, 200520 yr I own Airliner Pilot but never got very far with it. It states that you can import your own aircraft but that aspect of the software seemed to have some pretty big snags when it first came out. Maybe that has been improved by now (I haven't followed the forums on this). The Dash 8 that comes with it is decent, and that's what your are forced to start with. I enjoy turboprops so this was not a problem. Unfortunately, despite being assigned a "regional" position, I found the routes given me were far too long for either a Dash 8 in the real world, or for the amount of time I was willing to spend. The product could have been great with real world flights and schedules. I was also never able to get ATC to use a real world airline name, despite statements that it is possible. I played with it for about two days and moved on. It might have been improved since - I don't know. It seemed to have a lot of promise but just didn't deliver IMO.David
July 6, 200520 yr Hello All,any other comments on this product? I was thinking of buying it also, but the price was rather steep for what you get -- or at least that was my opinion. Convince me differently, if you can.Best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"
