Diamond Star DA42. Eaglesoft or Alabeo

Featured Replies

I saw a TV program that featured this aircraft and have since found two developers who offer it for sale.

Does anyone have any experience of either or even better both? Just wondering which is preferred by users.

Thanks

Get it at half price, or don't bother. Alabeo have released other aircraft since, and patched them but not this one despite its glaring errors.

Eaglesoft is a bit dated these days but has integrated support for the Mindstar G1000. But you can buy it under the Flight1 moneyback scheme so if it isn't right, return it.

But neither is a representation of the version that you've probably seen on TV - the DA42-VI with the higher power (and far more reliable) AE300 engines with 168hp.

A better suggestion:  Iris has two DA42 versions. I don't think they offer them for sale on their website, but perhaps an aftermarketer might still offer. The "Aviator" series is the better version, however both offer leaps and bounds better simulation/quality per framerate than Alabeo. I can't speak for Eaglesoft, but that prob has slightly better frames, but old looking.

No, the Iris offering is highly inaccurate in many areas, has neither the prettiness of the Alabeo nor the features list of the Mindstar-equipped Eaglesoft version.
