Kirk Olsson F-16 Help

Featured Replies

Yep, got "panel_f16" and "gauges." However, "gauges" is zipped. I extracted the contents to my FS9 gauges folder. No joy. I'll look for f-16c-d_block_30.zip.

OK, tried that Greek F-16 pack.First of all, their instructions (I think) say that all you have to do is unzip the file to the main FS9 folder. This is wrong, since there's no 2d panel bitmap included, which means in the 2d view you'll just get gauges (some of them...ahem) on a black screen. I copied over the background bitmaps from Kirk's other F-16s already installed (though I kept the original panel.cfg). This results in a panel exactly like the ones in the other F-16s, missing most of the gauges. I've included a screenshot so you can see what it looks like.http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a6/CWD/f16panel.jpg

Good morning:I think you named your problem with "I extracted the contents to my FS9 gauges folder".I could be mistaken, but if you will look in your fs9>gauge folder you will find another folder named gauges with all of your F16 Panel gauge files. You can simply open that folder and move all of the included xxxx.gau files out of the folder, or do the following: I think you extracted the gauges as a folder which will not work. You don't want the secondary folder in your fs9 gauge folder, you want the contents of that folder. As I emphaised in my earlier reply, you want the individual gauge files in your root gauge folder (Not a secondary gauge folder). Extract your panel zip file to a temporary location. Then open the gauge folder. Copy all of the xxx.gau files into your FS9 root gauge folder. I'll bet you have a panel with gauges then. If that doesn't work, I will be as puzzled as you are.Sorry if I misled you on the greek version. As I said, I personally did not use whatever they had for a panel but thought it might be worth a try. However, if you will copy the gauge files as mentioned above into their proper location, I bet their panel will fill up with gauges as well.Good luck and I Hope this helps and let us know if it does:RTH

Huzzah! Thanks for you help. I suspect my mistake was caused by the fact I was clicking on "extract contents...", forgetting it would create a folder with the contents in my chosen location rather than actually putting the contents there. I should know better.

Great to hear!Happy you got her working.Have a good day, and happy flying.RTH
