July 18, 200520 yr included in the package should be a "f-16 panel download info.txt"here is what it says in case you don't have it:********************* getting Eric Marciano's F-16 panel for us with my F-16 *****************************************1.) download direct from link below: http://63.217.28.218/files/1panels/fullf16pnl.zip-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------2.) This panel is loacted on page **12** of the SIMVIATION website's FS2002 **PANEL download section**.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3.) You can get to the simviation website through the link below: http://www.simviation.com/menu.html ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Using Eric Marciano's F-16 panel with my F16.1.) Follow all the directions included with Eric Marciano's panel. ************************************************************************************ ******* ( just remember to use the PANEL.CFG I've included with my F-16) ********** ************************************************************************************ Good luck! And it is a very awesome plane, too. Search for Viper, and maybe Kirk Olsson here at the Avsim library, there are lots of goodies for this aircraft!!-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!
July 18, 200520 yr Dave:I am afraid that this is a good news, bad news reply. The good news is that I believe the file your are hunting is fullf16pnl.zip. It was originally for FS2002 but works fine in FS9.The bad news is that I don't remember where I got it. Eric Marcinao's email address is [email protected] in the readme file, so that might be worth a try to locate the download link.An alternate try might be to simply do a search for Eric Marciano on both this and the other forum site. This brings up several F16's (for FS9) that already have his panel installed. I would suggest downloading one of them and simply copying the panel to your preferred aircraft.Another suggestion is to download f-16c-d_block_30.zip. This I believe is a relatively recent F16 download without any of the previous hassle relative to the afterburner. Their aircraft.cfg and airfiles work great in the US Airforce Models (after editing aircraft ID) as well.IMHO A Great plane, great panel (after a personal tweak or two).Good luck:RTH
July 18, 200520 yr Hi,I run FS2002 and use the panel for a F-16: f16pnlem.zip Description: F-16 Panel For FS2002 - Flight Simulator 2002 IncludesBrand New Gauges Developed By Eric Marciano For Fighter Jets: Radar Gauge ... Can be found on Surclaro and FSDome.Greetz. Jos
July 18, 200520 yr http://63.217.28.218/files/1panels/fullf16pnl.zip still works though :)-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!
July 19, 200520 yr Hi all, I need a little help with this. I've installed this a/c per the instructions, but I unable to get any avionics on the 2d panel, I do get a HUD on the VC. Any suggestions?Jef Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
July 19, 200520 yr Jef, The instructions include this:4.) The panel.cfg I have included is made to work seamlessly with Eric Marciano's freeware F-16 panel. My Virtual Cockpit requires several of the gauges from it aswell. (View the f-16 panel download info. text document for were to get his panel.)which points to the textfile called "F-16 paenl download info.txt" which is what I posted a copy of above. In that file, there is a link for downloading Eric Marciano's "fullf16pnl.zip". I just now tested the link and it still works. After downloading it, extract it and follow the instructions with it, but be sure and replace the panels "panel.cfg" with the one included in Kirk's Viper, so it will all work together.I hope this helps y'all, good luck!-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!
July 19, 200520 yr Thanks for the help Jeremy, I've followed the instructions to the letter and still no joy with the 2d panel.Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
July 19, 200520 yr Same here, I've followed the directions and no dice. There actually aren't many "directions" in the panel download...
July 20, 200520 yr Well, this aircraft is awesome so I'm gonna keep trying to help you guys:)OKFirst of all, my aircraft is from the file "usviper.zip", if you would like to make sure this would work, just search for it here on Avsim. Now then, we've extracted it all and got it installed into the proper FS9 folders, and all we need is the panel. We've got the "fullf16pnl.zip" extracted, inside are 2 folders, "gauges" and "panel_f16". Copy all contents inside the "gauges" folder and paste them into your FS9Gauges folder. Now, open the "panel_f16" folder, there is a folder called "panel", open it, select everything EXCEPT the panel.cfg file, and paste them into your "FS9AircraftViperPanel" folder. Now, since I did this myself once too, it's likely the original "panel.cfg" from Kirk's bird was accidently overwritten. Not a problem, it happens, easy to do. Email me, at [email protected] and I'll email Kirk's panel.cfg to you. Any other help feel free to ask!Good luck-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!
July 24, 200520 yr Bringing the thread back from the depths here...Update: I downloaded and installed the F-16 again today. I get the HUD and an altimeter in the 2D panel, and that's it. Everything else is a black hole. Oh, the radar is there (although it doesn't function because I don't have a registered version of FSUIPC.
July 24, 200520 yr Hello again:Did you copy all of the gauge files into the FS9 Gauge Folder? It sounds like your gauges are not in the folder. After unzipping (I use WinZip) full16pnl.zip to a temporary location, you should have a folder called "full16pnl".Inside of that folder you will have two folders, "panel_f16" and "gauges"Inside of the "panel_f16" folder you will have a folder called "panel". Copy this folder into the F16 folder that you have chosen and installed.Double click on the "gauges" folder to open it. Click on "edit" and "select all". Click on edit again and copy all of the xxxx.gau files. Paste all of these gauges into your FS9>gauge folder (or simply move them there if you are comfortable with that act). DO NOT simply move the gauge folder. copy the opened contents into your root gauge folder as individual gauges.Give the above a try and see what you have. Depending upon the aircraft you are implementing this panel into, you may or may not have an alternate panel.cfg file in the aircraft download. If so, you might try replacing the current panel.cfg file located in your panel folder. I realize that I went through a lot of steps that you probably have already tried, but not knowing exactly, I tried to go through the whole routine. Please ignore me where I have covered what you have already done.Last and most important, BACKUP EVERYTHING applicable before you change anything so that you can get back to go if necessary.Once again, I would suggest downloading "f-16c-d_block_30.zip". I do not know for sure, but it may or may not already include the working panel. (I replaced it with my existing panel in other F16's as I had edited them to my on personal preference in places). I do think the aircraft.cfg and air files simplify the installation a bit with this download. In fact I replaced and edited where necessry my existing F16's with these files as to me the after burner works better without going through what to me was a bit of a hassle. Give it a try, you have not lost anything.Several downloaded F16'and this panel do work, and work well IMHO.Hope this is of some help.RTH
