X-plane: Is it normal behaviour that the Garmin stays on, while the engine and battery are off?

I would have to check again, but I think the same happens in FSX. Just assume it has a built-in battery backup

 

Edit: Just checked: I was wrong, the GPS turns off when there is no power.
